This Friday, Attic has a special treat for it’s beginner’s oil painting class…We’ll be packing up our easels and taking the show down the road to The Secret Garden cafe.
With it’s rustic charm and lush overgrown garden The Secret Garden is the perfect place to create. Everywhere you turn, there’s something to see. Banana trees, papaya trees, morning glory flowers, heliconias (crab claw flowers), and so much more (I just don’t know what they’re all called).
Come and join us for some fresh air and inspiration! We’ll be meeting at Attics Studios at 10am and taking it from there.
No matter how old your child, there is a stimulating art experience waiting for them at Attic. Elsie who has taught at umpteen schools in Bangkok can help with challenging art homework either nudging or pushing the student in the right direction. Or join in with one of the adult classes. Oil painting can be learned in 3 sessions!
Attic Studios is now accepting supply donations for flood victims. With access to boats, Attic will personally deliver supplies to as many people as we can reach.
If you live in central Bangkok, I think we can all agree that we are in the clear, but don’t forget there are still so many people wandering around in chest deep water with no access to food or clean drinking water and other basic necessities.
With the political agenda and outright corruption, I personally don’t like the idea of handing anything over to any organisation..ATTIC WILL DELIVER SUPPLIES BY HAND TO THOSE IN NEED.
There are many people on the outskirts of Bangkok with no drinking water.
We want to help them.
This first Friday there will be an entrance fee of a bottle of drinking water or a 200 baht donation.
All proceeds will go directly to those who need it.
Come to Attic’s First Friday in your wellies and casuals. We’ll celebrate colours together with exhibiting artist Mia Farizza, get hands on with Gavin Fifield’s sculpture demonstration and get really dirty with Elsie Evans and the Tunisian Collaborative Painting.
The Ministry of Education in Bangkok has ordered all schools to close from October 26th-November 7th. Water levels have broken Klong Prapah.
We are still being creative!

Sukhumvit Road is well fortified and still dry and we are extending our Children’s Workshops that normally end 28th October, they will now go on through 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

So if you are 5yrs-11yrs old and have nothing to do then come to Attic Studios from 10am-1pm.
The studio was all a buzz today, felt like a glamorous gallery with the click, click, clicking and the flashing of cameras.
As a group of photography students from the American School of Bangkok came to the studio today to learn from our current Photo exhibition by Benoit Ricoine.
They were all very lively and enthusiastic to take in as much as possible.
Benoit was there to answer any queries but they had the added bonus of not one but two passionate photographers in the house.
While you’ll never hear her say it, she is rushed off her feet to be there rested, semi presentable and in plenty of time for these little darlings.
They adore her and she loves seeing re- discovering things through their eyes. The little buds of life that gives her reason to go on through an already long and exhausting day.
So you will be disappointed if should come in the studio between 1-4pm on a Tuesday and Wednesday, cause you can bet your left arm Elsie is at the
Early Learning Centre.
Elsie Evans in action at St. Camillus Foundation of Thailand, where you can find her once a week.
Last week the children experoienced pastels, they learned about geometric shapes and lines.
This week the children all enjoyed their Plein Air painting lesson with Elsie who believes that art is accessable to everyone. Elsie feels that painting can be theraputic and tries to incorporate this in every class she teaches. The subject matter this week covered everything from observation, colour and brush stroke/control. So go to the link above and check it out.
Complete Beginners Drawing Workshop
The first of 6 special drawing workshops for complete beginners took off this week. As people arrived one by one the energy in the studio was charged with excitment. We even had a small audience that came to watch and provide inspirational conversation. Richard Weaver was extremely satisfied with the enthusiasim and effort. First class is free so come check it out and see if you like it. Or just come down and hang out!
