An Exhibition Featuring Art, with Poltergeist Activity!?

Our dear artist friend, Collins is ON it again…. and we’re here to show our on-going support.

from Attic’s January’s First Friday Exhibition; all from the Srinakharinwirot University’s Faculty of Fine Art?!

They did great, if you remember….and the exhibition was an ‘almost’ complete sell out!

WELL they’ve progressed onwards and upwards since then & are doing great as they’re just about ‘all set’ for the opening of their new show this coming Thursday, May 12th @ the Bangkok Art & Cultural Centre @ 6.00pm.

Please come and see this work, they are the future….

By all accounts, there’s going a lot of student artist’s work on show (& for sale) SO please TELL EVERYONE to come to THIS SHOW.

Great job to you all, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK & we wish you all the best for Thursday evening…and beyond

you’ll be in for a LOVELY surprise!!

BECAUSE Attic Studios will be there, within the fabulous grounds of the Shrewsbury School on the river this coming Saturday, November 27th…..along with Ellie the elephant, who we’ve been informed can wander around at her leisure!!

Ellie the Elephant has been re-painted & has now had a full make-over (err, needed…too much sun!) so just to let you know that she’s looking very beautiful once more SO if you’re wondering where Ellie’s gone from outside the Attic Studios… well, now you know why!

The ‘Ploenchit Fair by the River 2010 fair‘ is really quite something and even the Prime Minister will be there…. so do please come and see Elsie at the Attic stand if you need a break as you try not to eat or drink too much walking round (which might be quite hard, as from what I’ve heard there’s going to be some yummy delights of food & beverages on offer, as well as a whole host of people peddling their wares!)

There will be lots of painting demonstrations going on at the Attic Stand all day long and Elsie & her handsome man gang (!) will be on hand to talk to and encourage lots of new artistic talent into the studio to learn how to paint and draw… so good luck to all of them AND wishing everyone there a very enjoyable day.

Sorry for the late notice BUT!…

This Saturday evening, the 13th November, Elsie & Simon will be holding a very very casual event at Chatuchak to celebrate their current exhibition.

Elsie & fellow artist Simon Bradwell are exhibiting paintings & artwork there for the month of November.

A Rather Floral First Friday

At 7pm on Friday, 3rd September it was raining. A few moments earlier, it was pouring. Attic staff stood in the shelter of the studio thinking “Oh no, all this work and no body’s going to turn up”. Boy were we wrong…

It seemed as if people just kept showing up. One by one, two by two, in the taxi load. By 10pm the place was heaving, and they still didn’t stop coming!

Our 10th First Friday was by far the most colourful we’ve had yet, in every sense of the word. With Lala’s beautiful oil paintings adorning every available wall space (and flying off them at some speed) and fresh flowers covering everything else, the senses were overwhelmed. Our delicious next door neighbour, Cassia Cafe and Tea Room, Supplied some scrumptious snacks which were devoured before I could say: “Excuse me for a moment, I think I shall try a bit of that rather inviting quiche……damn it!”

Upstairs, Alan Scott-Moncrieff – our other Scottish artist – demonstrated his impasto painting technique for an eager audience. As soon as he was done, one of them snatched it up like it was going out of fashion.

So, thank you to all our devoted supporters for braving the rain, thank you to Cassia for being a friendly neighbour, thank you to Lala for your much appreciated help at the studio, thank you to Alan for painting, and thank you to the Attic family for making it all possible! See you next month. xo
