Cut up old t-shirts make EXCELLENT rags for students painting with oils…and we’re now running short.
If you would like to donate any of yours old lovelies, please drop them into the studio when you’re next passing & we’ll ensure you’ll get a cup of coffee, on us.

Yesterday’s Figurative Workshop was a great occassion. Amy, Carl, Suzie, Katie, Nirupa, Caroline and special guest, John from Hong Kong produced some wonderful vibrant work.
Well done to all of you. It was a great pleasure for me to be there.

A lovely French Canadian lady called Marie Gauthier got in touch with Attic recently to see if she could model for us and of course, we said YES… and we’re so glad we did because she’s wonderful.
Marie has been a professional ‘Life Model’ for over 15 years back home in Canada but in December 2010, she decided to make the break to begin a journey of discovery and MODEL her way round the world!
First stop was Paris and then onto Yangon in Myanma and the next stop was Bangkok… where she found us almost immediately.

The idea was born when Faisal Malik, the communications director for the Camilian Children’s Charity home, a registered non-profit charity in the Lat Krabang area of Bangok for children that provides an environment that encourages and aids the development of children living with disabilities and HIV/Aids, approached ELsie with an art request!
And of course, Elsie was only too happy to give her blessing to this wondeful idea and asked her star Saturday kids to participate in a project…. to make creative mobiles.

For all you busy people or workers out there who’s frantic schedules maybe don’t quite fit in with our morning classes programme during the week, here’s something JUST for you!
From the beginning of January & every Sunday (from 11am – 4pm) the studio will be open to ALL you budding, want to be artists who maybe haven’t been able to find the opportunity until NOW (all levels welcome) to come and paint or draw and would relish some space and peace for your own creative expression.
Just before the Christmas break Elsie invited over 40 children from the Mercy Centre in Klong Toey to Attic Studios for a very special day of painting …
Elsie had them captivated from the word go… and the results were amazing.
FANTASTIC in fact … there’s so much talent here!
We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who helped out… and especially to Ronnie Reid and Jaclyn Bain who were amazing assistants to Elsie … & they all did a great job in making every single child feel very special.
