You are cordially invited to come celebrate the return of Bangkok with our #7 First Friday – and PARTY!
This time around we’ve lined up some exciting stuff for you…
Elsie will be previewing an exhibition of newly inspired and hugely popular little oil paintings she’s being busily creating, which capture recent political events so beautifully. They form a fantastic foundation stone for her new project, Elsie’s Daily Paintings.
Also on display will be photographs of the recent war-zone in downtown Beirut, oops I mean Bangkok. Gavin has been a journalist for over 20 years and he’s familiar with serial blasts, religious riots and political strife around the world so he found Bangkok a blast… and his photographs are stunning!
Today we were packed full of enthusiastic artists of varying ability.
Life drawing is essential to anyone serious about their art work – OK enough lecturing!
Here are 3 pieces of work – fabulous, well done to all of you.
Anybody who has visited or wandered past the studio recently might wonder where Else has gone. The answer, shock, horror, is to a pub in Soi 33, and all day too!
However, don’t be alarmed for her moral welfare, as were you to wander no further into that soi of iniquity than down the steps to the Londoner you would find her in there, up a ladder painting like Leonardo in the Sistene Chapel. Well not quite, but as the saying goes, when in Rome and appropriately she’s painting London murals.
With all the recent disruptions, it almost feels like it’s been an eternity since our last class but we’re very happy to let you know that Lisa will be teaching her life drawing class tomorrow from 10-1pm and all are very welcome.
We will also be holding an evening session (500 baht) so if you like to come along, please email info@attic-studio.com to confirm.
To all Parents and Children,
In consideration of all your children’s 100% safety, Elsie has decided not to hold the children’s classes tomorrow, Saturday 22nd….until we are all more certain of the city’s overall security and the curfew is over.

As many of you personally witnessed, the political situation and unfolding events of yesterday shocked and saddened us all. However, whilst most people lay low & out of the firing range, Elsie was here at the studio… painting with gusto!
