We found her! Looks like the paparazzi managed to track Elsie down, looking primped and proper before attending her son’s leavers ball, in the UK. Yes, Attic has that far of a reach. You can’t escape the Attic paparazzi…try as you might, we’ll find you!
A little bird told me that she didn’t look quite so proper later that evening…or rather earlier the next morning.

Another First Friday tucked under our belt. A whole bunch of new faces and loyal regulars turned up; a great crowd. We even had an antenna hooked up so football enthusiasts didn’t miss out. We think of everything, people! Don’t underestimate the Attic.
Elsie has flown the coop. She’s in the U.K. at the moment attending her son’s graduation. She will be back in 10 days, family in tow. We missed her on First Friday. It just wasn’t the same. But the Attic gang held it together, be it with sticky tape and blue tac.

And this week’s star subject for our Bangkok Life workshop – the plant man, aka Thailand’s answer to Worzel Gummidge!
We’re now running this new life drawing workshop, every Tuesday morning from 10 – 1pm.
The subject will change every week but just to give you an idea here is a photo of today’s model, complete with her sewing machine!
Instruction is available, if required, in any medium.
Cost: 1,200 baht (materials supplied, except canvas) or 700 baht if you bring your own materials.
We are now running summer holiday workshops every morning from 10 -1pm.
Mondays – Still Life
Tuesdays – NEW ‘Bangkok Life!’ – drawing from life
Wednesdays – Mosaic
Thursdays – Life Drawing
Fridays – ‘Scapes
Teachers are on hand to help you in whatever creative direction you want to go!
Studio membership: 9,000 baht a month or 2,500 baht a week.

Next Wednesday 16th & Thursday 17th June (from 10 – 1pm) Lisa Bergan will be running an intensive life drawing and abstract figurative workshop here at Attic, in our downstairs studio.
The workshop will involve traditional life drawing using a ‘life figure’ to help you spring board your ideas and develop your own creative abstract concepts.
Through Lisa’s guided tuition, you will learn to to create your own individualized work and explore different ideas to build up both realistic and abstract styled finished works.
You will use a mixture of mediums – starting with basic charcoal drawings, through mixed media and onto your own painting.
Just a couple of doors down from Attic Studio are our lovely neighbours, the Cassia Gallery…. and this coming Saturday evening they will be opening a new exhibition called “Quick Draw” featuring the sketchbook works of the wonderfully talented artist & fellow supporter of Elsie’s work, Asnee Tasna… so please feel free to pop along, share your support and check it out.
”Quick Draw” is a painting and sketchbook exhibition and is Asnee’s first solo show. The exhibition will comprise of 30 watercolour paintings and sketches of picturesque Yunnan and Bhutan, as well as various scenes of bustling Bangkok such as Tha Tian market and Chinatown.
