Ancient City Road Trip
Yesterday, Sunday 15th August, Elsie took a couple of people out to the Ancient City (Muang Boran) for an art-day-out and a chance to paint and draw some beautiful scenery.
Elizabeth (the newly retired head of art from the International School of the Regents) and Amy (Found Attic online) met Elsie at the studio at 8am Sunday morning, gathered the necessary materials and piled into her car to head off to the Ancient City, about an hours drive from Bangkok.
Driving around the park, Amy and Elizabeth’s mouths were hanging open from the view. They stopped to paint at a Sala with a gorgeous view of a lake, reflecting a collection of Chedis.
Plein air painting (painting outdoors from life) isn’t easy. Light changes, shadows move. It takes a bit of practice. If you have never been to the Ancient City before, it is a must. It’s a lovely, peaceful place, surrounded by greenery…so don’t tell too many people. We don’t want to ruin it!
These trips will be a regular occurrence, so if you’re interested watch this space or contact Attic directly to find out specific dates. We also announce all events and upcoming courses on our facebook page.
Also Attic will launch “Attic’s Annual Picnic” closer to the end of this year, to be held at the Ancient City. Not convinced? Check out these photos.
