Modigliani on Saturday!

Saturday’s kids have done it again! They just make me SO PROUD! Little geniuses! I can’t get enough.

This past Saturday, we looked at Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani and his figure paintings. Modigliani was best known for his modern, simplified take on portraiture creating mask like faces and elongated bodies and features.

The kids chose members of their family to base their portraits on…paying careful attention to such details as hairstyles, jewelry and type of clothing. At the end of the day, they had created masterpieces. I have to admit, there were quite a few I wanted to take home myself.
