Capturing a ‘Scape

There is so much inspiration in the studio at the moment, I thought I’d share a few pictures of works in progress. These particular students are working on Landscapes from reference photos they have chosen, from seaside cliffs, to sunsets over the ocean, to a waterfall in the jungle.

Each student has chosen their preferred medium, including soft pastels, oil pastels and oil paint, meeting the challenges of how to paint a thousand leaves, or pastel a rock so that it looks rocky, or create the colour of water or capture the intensity of light…
