Kat is Back!
Yes I am! And it’s good to be back, full of energy and ideas.
It’s a beautiful Sunday afternoon and a handful of people are working away in the studio producing some wonderful oil and pastel paintings. Elsie is out at the Golden Mount today, with a group from the studio and the Bangkok Sketchers, a notorious group that wonders the city taking part in something called “En Plein Air” drawing…sounds dodgy to me….
…Of course it isn’t. Plein Air simply means drawing or painting outdoors on location as shown below:
If you suddenly find your self with too much time on your hands this summer, it’s a good time to pop by the studio. With so many exciting things going on I don’t even know where to begin…
Tomorrow is “Still Life” day. We’ve seen some wonderful Still Life compositions in the last week
Tuesday brings with it the fantastic opportunity to see a little bit of Bangkok in the studio. Over the last couple of weeks we’ve had a motorbike taxi driver AND his bike sitting for a class, as well as the sewing lady from across the street with her sewing machine and all! I’m excited to see who we’ll have in next Tuesday…no elephants please.
Wednesday is Mosaic day for all who wish to create something timlessly beautiful while dodging projectile pieces of tile. One of these days I’m going to find the time to sit down and make a mosaic if it’s the last thing I do!
Thursday is Life Drawing as usual – upstairs AND down. Friday is ‘Scapes day. ‘Scapes? you ask. Yes….. Scapes. Landscapes, cityscapes, even moonscapes if I’m feeling a little crazy.
So, get your summered-up selves over here immediately and lets get to it. It’s good to be home!

KAT, this is brilliant
I particularly love the ‘dodging projectile pieces of tile! imagery. Lovely piece, so engaging & sooo glad your back
