Glazing Sangria nights…

Allo Allo! I apologise for the long absence. The studio has been rather hectic recently. Last week, the advanced installation of Alan Scott-Moncrieff’s course saw canvases spread out all over the floor of the studio and students on their knees frantically applying layers of tinted glaze to numerous paintings. A new experience for all. As a few of the partakers will tell you, it starts to become rather addictive and you end up walking around trying to find anything else you could possibly glaze.

Monday, 1st of June marked the opening reception of the Silver Fish and Turpentine exhibition showing off the collected works born of Alan’s entire 3-stage course. Tapas Cafe was jam packed full of artists, relatives and interested parties scoffing down the delicious food and free-flowing Sangria, while perusing the paintings covering the walls both upstairs and down.

It was wonderful to see the culmination of all the students’ hard work on display, showing off the progress and passion they have made and found, over the last few months.

The works will be on display at Tapas until the 21st June and are all available for purchase (unless of course they have already been sold).

In closing I will leave you with some pics of the party…enjoy (fortunately, no one got so sloshed that they started dancing on the tables, semi-nude…always a bonus).
